4089399753_039e34c0abArriving at the Bedford on a particularly cold and Autumnal Sunday, surprisingly so given the recent weather, the first thing we noticed was how easy it was to park – a good start considering the large number of people this event usually attracts

As we walked through the door first impressions were how warm the vibe of the venue was, literally, as there was an open fire burning in the middle of the ground floor surrounded by an appealing bunch of young people nursing pints and enjoying the pub’s enticing menu. Despite the size of the venue this gave it a wonderful cosy feel and set the scene for a night of music and arts based fun… 4090080140_7de1a464561

Moving on our first glimpse of music was a 3-piece girl band standing in an archive on the stairs - the surrounding audience was captivated by their music and visually the performance looked great – a very original stage!

As we joined the throng and began to mingle we met many like-minded young people, all sharing one common interest, great music and performance. The other interest that most of the audience seemed to share was a very obscure dress sense, with girls running around dressed as fairies as well as a great deal more “alternative” costumes and attire.

As the night drew to a close I reflect on my personal highlight of the evening which had to be Newton Faulkner’s riveting finale and hanging out in the “grotto-like” smoking area (Smoking is bad kids, ok?) which all but made the process of trundling outside into the cold, fun!

All in all a great Sunday and we will definitely be back next year. Thanks a lot One Taste!!
