Following previous engagements to fashion model Jason Shaw and Greek shipping heir Paris Latsis, Paris Hilton is reportedly hoping to make it third time lucky with current beau Benji Madden.

Despite dating for just two months, things are reportedly quite serious between the pair with Benji’s brother Joel calling Paris his “sister-in-law.” The pair have been seen smooching across the globe – Paris is supporting Benji as he tours with his band Good Charlotte – and Benji was recently seen wearing a diamond ring bearing the initials PH.

A source said: “Paris and Benji are inseparable. A lot of people have brushed their romance off as a publicity stunt but Benji is serious about Paris and he has discussed marriage plans with his brother - which is why Joel called her his sister-in-law. He said it in a jokey way, but it sounds like it is just a matter of time.”

However, it may not be all plain sailing for the couple as Joel, who is engaged to Paris’ best friend Nicole Richie, is said to be concerned his brother is rushing into marriage.

The source added to Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper:”Benji was engaged to Sophie (Sophie Monk, an Australian model and Benji’s former girlifriend) just a few days before he started dating Paris, so Joel just wants to make sure he knows what he is doing.”

Things are finally looking up for Britney Spears. After a tumultous start to the year, Britney made headlines for all the right reasons in March when she received positive reviews for her role in the CBS sitcom ‘How I Met Your Mother.’

The March 24^th 2008 episode in which Spears appeared not only landed an impressive 10.6 million viewers, a million up on other episodes, but it seems to have created a positive snowball effect in Spears’ career. Fresh from this modest success came positive feedback for her latest album ‘Blackout’ and hits ‘Gimme More’ and ‘Break The Ice.’ Add to this the calming effect her father Jamie has had on her life and it seems that Britney is finally heading in the right direction.

The show’s executives were obviously impressed with Spears cameo role – she played bubbly secretary Abby – as the songstress has been signed up to star in a second episode on May 12th. Talking about Spears on-going cameo appeararance, series executive producer and co-creator Craig Thomas said in a statement: “We’re all so thrilled to have Britney joining us once again.”

Whether Britney’s successful cameo appearance evolves into a fully-fledged acting career remains to be seen but for now we’re just happy to see Britney back on her feet!

Despite being the toast of the British music industry it seems that ‘Mercy’ star Duffy is still too embarassed to sing in front of her family. The 23-year-old Welsh songstress recently played at London’s Royal Albert Hall - as part of the Teenage Cancer Trust charity shows - but refused to invite any of her nearest and dearest.

She told Britain’s New magazine: “I didn’t invite any of my family, and there’s a part of me that thinks maybe I should have.”

“I like to keep them away from my music. I have never really included friends and family. There is a lot I need to learn before I can present myself to them - I need to get a little bit more confident.”

Duffy had better get used to being in the spotlight as her career is going from strength to strength and her fanbase is growing in numbers by the day. Fresh from her success with chart topping single ‘Mercy’ and number one album ‘Rockferry’, Duffy is hoping to continue her success with third single ‘Warwick Avenue.’

If recent reports are to believed then it seems that pop diva Mariah Carey has become engaged to rumoured boyfriend Nick Cannon.

The pair – Nick Cannon is a 27 year-old American actor/rapper – have reportedly spent a lot of time together in recent weeks with numerous reports of hand holding making headlines. An article on People.com on April 15^th claimed that the two flew into Sin City on a private jet and were later spotted at a nightclub, getting “cozy” at one of the VIP tables.

However, it wasn’t until photos of Carey wearing a big ring Saturday night during a New York afterparty for her new film, ‘Tennessee’ made the rounds that the engagement rumours took on a life of their own.

Asked Monday by MTV News about his relationship with the pop diva, Cannon responded: ‘I can’t even know what to say. She’s probably the most festive, remarkable person I’ve ever met. Good friend.’ When pressed further about the rumors, he said, ‘Rumors happen. They do.’

Whether the engagement reports are true or mindless gossip, one things for sure, Nick Cannon certainly moves quickly. On February 22^nd 2007 reports falsely speculated that Cannon had married Victoria’s Secrets model, Selita Ebanks after the couple had been dating for only three weeks. Six weeks later, on May 7^th 2007 Cannon proposed to Ebanks via the Times Square jumbotron and she accepted. However, on October 4^th 2007, People.com announced that the couple had called off their engagement.

Leona Lewis has reportedly become the latest star to sign-up for Nelson Mandela’s milestone birthday bash. The concert, which will be held in London this summer, will be Leona’s biggest show ever and will mark the end of her super successful world tour.

No matter where she goes, Leona continues to take a tidal wave of success with her. Fresh from her celebrated ‘Spirit’ tour came success from across the pond. By topping both the US singles and album charts with her debut album ‘Spirit’ and single ‘Bleeding Love’, Leona cemented her place in music history and finally shrugged off the reality TV label.

And it seems that Leona won’t be the only superstar sending the former South Africa President birthday wishes as stars such as Eminem – who was recently tempted out of retirement by Queen rocker Brian May – Amy Winehouse, Razorlight, Sugababes and Keane are also expected to descend on London’s Hyde Park on June 27^th.

Well Alex Turner will definitely be smiling this week, he’s just topped the UK album charts for the third year running, this time as half of the successful collaboration that is ‘The Last Shadow Puppetts’

The Debut album, ‘Age of the Understatement’ penned by Arctic Monkey’s frontman, Alex Turner and Miles Kane of the Rascals hit the Number One Hot Spot this weekend….

Alex Turner is on the road to equalling the success he has had with his main band, The Arctic Monkeys in 2006 their debut album, ‘Whatever people Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not’ reached Number One as did their second album, ‘My Favourite Worst Nightmare’ Which reached the top spot in 2007…….

It seems that Alex certainly has the golden touch…. the Arctic Monkeys have already recorded demos of songs which could appear on a third album although rumours are that they may ditch the conventional album format, opting for a single by single release instead. One things for sure if past form is anything to go by, they’re sure to be a huge success…….

Rockstars, Coldplay are the latest group to gain exposure through releasing free downloads…..

They have announced on their website, that ‘Violet Hill’ the first single taken from their forthcoming album, will be available as a free download, for one week from Tuesday 29th April whilst a limited edition vinyl version will be given away with May 7th edition of UK magazine N.M.E.

The rockers go on to delight their fans even further by announcing that they’ll be holding two free concerts to celebrate the release of their fourth studio album, ‘Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends’

Fans will have the chance to win tickets to watch Chris Martin and co. performing at London’s Brixton Academy on June 16th or at Madison Square Garden on June 23rd. Details of which will be available on the website in the coming weeks….

Superstar vetran, Michael Jackson has started recording his highly anticipated comeback album assisted by leading producers, Akon and RedOne.

The singer who topped the charts with hits such as ‘Thriller’ has cut out all personal distractions in a bid to achieve success. Not only has he banned his three children, Prince Michael, Prince Michael II and Paris from the Las Vegas studio where he is recording, he has also put his rumoured romance with their nanny, Grace Rwaramba on hold.

According to a source quoted in the New York Post, “…Michael has banned his kids from the recording studio. He realises this is very important and doesn’t want any distractions…..He’s not going to be involved in any personal relationships with women until he gets the record done…He has dumped the nanny - she’s not around anymore….”

Jacko is putting his all into his new LP which he hopes to release later this year…watch this space for more news…

Attendants at California’s Coachella music festival were left in no doubt as to who dominated this year’s festival, a chorus of ‘Purple Rain’ among the crowd confirmed that Prince was Coachella’s king of cool.

Despite a young and hip line-up, including acts such as M.I.A, Goldfrapp, Kate Nash, Mark Ronson and Duffy to name but a few, it was veteran Prince who stole the show and the proceeding headlines.

Prince warmed fans with his hits “I Feel for You” and “Let’s Go Crazy” before whipping featival-goers (including socialite Nicole Richie and boyfriend Joel Madden who was deejaying at the festival) into a frenzy with covers of Radiohead’s ‘Creep’ and The Beatles ‘Come Together’ and his worldwide anthem ‘Purple Rain.’

Although many criticised this year’s line up – the festival is known for attracting huge acts, notably Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Nine Inch Nails, Coldplay, Depeche Mode, Tool, Daft Punk and Massive Attack - the late arrival of Prince only seemed to boast the celebrations, making this year’s festival (the nineth to date) one to remember.

Jennifer Lopez has become the latest star, in a long line of female beauties who’ve come under the glare of the camera lens, to sign up for her own reality tv show.

Despite giving birth to twins, Max and Emme, just over two months ago, Jennifer is already working on her new show. The ‘I’m Real’ singer will allow cameras into her life to show how she juggles her career with motherhood.

The show, which will also be produced by Jennifer, will be shown on US cable station The Learning Channel (TLC). Talking about their collaboration, TLC President Angela Shapiro-Mathes said: ‘Jennifer is unbelievably passionate about life and will be an incredible role model for our audience.’

Let’s hope that Jennifer’s reality show is less cringeworthy than other celebrities attempts, most notably Britney’s ‘Chaotic’ and Jessica Simpson’s ‘Newleyweds.’
