Katy Perry (born Kathryn Hudson on October 25, 1984) is an American singer-songwriter, and occasional actress based in LA. In 2004, Katy began working on an album, writing with Glen Ballard. Songs they collaborated on included 'Box', 'Diamonds' and 'Long Shot' all of which were released on her official MySpace leading to her being dubbed 'The Next Big Thing'. In early 2007 Perry signed with Capitol Music and began recording her official debut album, working with a host of celebrated producers including Greg Wells Dr. Luke and Dave Stewart. Her album 'One Of The Boy's' released June 2008, is a sharp and witty pop-rock gem which showcases her sharp, observational lyrics and big charasmatic voice. The album has proved to be a great success with the first single from it, 'I Kissed A Girl' becoming a worldwide hit topping the charts in more than 20 countries.
